Since its summer and we know how important your beach body is and how badly you want a slim toned waist, we’re sharing several of our favorite oblique exercises that’ll really work your sides and abs.
Toe Taps
Toe tabs are simple but effective and can be done basically anywhere and at anytime. We suggest doing three sets at the end of your cardio session. All you have to do is sit at the edge of a bench with your hands behind you, fingers facing forward. Lean back a little and raise your knees to your chest before alternating toe taps. Repeat 12 times with each foot.
Side Planks
Lie down on your right side with your left leg stacked on top of your right and your right elbow and forearm bent on the floor under your shoulder. With your left hand on your hip lift your body away from the floor extending into a straight line from your head to your legs. Do 12 reps and switch sides. Repeat 2 more times.
Oblique Kicks
Assume a plank position. Lift and bend your right leg to the side and kick it toward the outside of your right elbow. Return to start and alternate legs. Repeat 12 times for each leg. Do two sets.
Torso Rotation
Sit on the floor or a bench with your knees bent in front of you. Carrying a weighted plate with both hands, lift your feet off the floor, keeping your knees bent and quickly move the plate from right to left. Repeat until failure.
